I was born in Argos, where I also completed my high school studies. Then, after passing exams at the Military Medical School, the Medical School of Athens and the Military School of Evelpida, I entered the first of them by selection. I received my degree with a grade of "Very Good". In front of the Senate of the Medical School of Athens, I defended my doctoral thesis entitled "Upper cervicothoracic sympathectomy through the supraclavicular route, for hyperhidrosis and extreme cyanosis of the upper extremities" and was awarded a doctorate from the University of Athens with a grade of "Very Good".

In 1982 I received the title of Surgeon. I am a member of the following Scientific Societies:

c. Hellenic Society for Biomedical Research and Laboratory Animals.

I have completed further training in Laparoscopic Surgery at the European Surgical Education Center in Paris and at the European Surgical Institute in Hamburg, in Surgery of diseases of the rectal canal at Akademiska University in Uppsala.
I have participated in a large number of continuing postgraduate education programs from Universities in Greece and abroad.
I am a scientific associate of the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace with similar teaching and writing work.
I have participated as a member or as president and have organized scientific days, meetings and conferences in Greece and abroad. More than 120 of my works have been announced at conferences in Greece and abroad, where I have taken part, and have been published in Greek and Foreign Journals.
During the 41 years that I have been a Surgeon, I have performed more than 10,000 small, medium, large, heavy and extremely heavy surgeries.

To date I have held:
A. Surgical Clinic Assistant 3 years and 6 months.
B. Curator of Surgery Clinic 9 years.
C. Director of Surgery Clinic 7 years and 6 months.
D. Director of the Experimental Surgery of the 401 GSNA, 1 year.
E. Director of the Nicosia Military Hospital for 1 year.
F. Director of the Alexandroupolis Military Hospital for 4 years.
G. Director of the Thorakos Pentelis Military Hospital for 1 year.
H. Director of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens for 2 years.
During the time I served as Clinic Director, a total of 53 doctors specialized under my supervision for some time.
In March 2006, I retired from the ranks of the Greek Army with the rank of General.
Since 1993 I have been a scientific associate of the Athens Bioclinic and of the Biomedicine group.
